I love this American wheat, more than a traditional german wiezen. I used White Lab American Hefewiezen yeast instead of american ale. Great color and flavor.
Love this beer! I add fresh summer strawberries for a great poolside treat.
Always can count on this easy beer kit! Wife loves this smooth light beer.
Simple, fast and an easy brew. Also very tasty beer. Light and refreshing. I used the American wheat yeast.
Very easy to brew, tastes great out of the fermenter, bottle conditioning now.
I love this kit. I've brewed it several times over the last year and everyone that tries it loves. I brew it with 4oz sweet orange peel and an oz of coriander. Yummy.
This was my first ever home brew and it turned out great! One friend said that he has never liked wheat beer at all but he loved this one.
A straight forward beer to brew and a fun beer to play around with. Use a Hefeweizen yeast to get those nice esters and phenols. Use a clean American yeast (05, 001, 1056) if you want to play around with other additions.
this was one of the first kits ive brewed and it was a great summer beer. it was even a hit with the ladies that arent into craft beer. it was super easy to brew and didnt take long to be able to drink! i will absolutely make this one again
Brewed this for a wedding, everyone loved it. No half full glasses sitting around. Added 4 oz of blueberry extract at kegging. clean wheat beer with some blueberry presence.
I brewed this beer at the end of September. I was a little worried about the yeast, it came to the house with the bag already puffed up. I just tossed it in the frige and waited for brew day. I did my starter 24 hours before brew day and hoped for the best. I did see that the abv % was a little low for us here in Texas. I had a some dry rice extract in the house, so I added 1 pound to the boil. after boil 7 days in primary fermenter, then 7 days in secondary fermenter. my OG was 1.061 my final was 1.01 = abv 6.6 % . I bottled it and let it rest for 1 month and tried a few of them. it was great !!!! no sweet taste to it, not to hoppy. I have friends that are wheat beer drinkers. they all loved it. they said a wheat beer with a good taste and a good buzz to. I am here to order another kit or 2. ha ha ha I only have 2 bottles left now.
This is a good brew, but I prefer the Hefeweizen recipe kit over this one. This one is a little more bitter.
Zested an orange and a lemon for the primary. Was a crowd favorite for the summer.
Very easy-to-make beer, and turned out delicious. I just brewed it straight-up, no modifications, and it ended up being a very light, clean wheat beer, great with a lemon, and great for enjoying while sitting out in the sun.
I decided to do extract for a shorter brew day and this turned out to be one of my simplest but satisfying beers yet. It is a good recipe to start with as a base. I suggest modifying the recipe to your taste.I added another pound of DME, the zest of 3 oranges, some coriander, and some light hops and the beer turned out very quaffable and light in flavor/mouthfeel. I think if you stayed with the recipe they give, it would be too light and flavorless. I generally don't like wheat beers and this wasn't too wheaty or estery.
This is by far the most widely liked beer I have brewed to date. Not everyone is a hop head and even fewer are porter or stout drinkers, but when it comes to this recipe...EVERYONE loves it (especially the ladies...wink-wink)! I added 6 pounds of fresh strawberries in the secondary the last time I brewed it and it gave a nice tartness to the beer that made for a great summertime beverage. Easy, affordable, and delicious.
Easiest beer I've ever brewed. I hopped it a little more and added honey and the zest of two oranges. It's a beautiful beer for hot weather. After many all grain beers, it's also a very short brew day
I have made this twice and everyone loves it, even my macro brew friends. I'm making this right now for a third time, but adding a little more cascade hops halfway through the boil. We'll see how that turns out, but I have a good feeling!
I make this from time to time and as you may note I like cigars and all the cigar buddies love this stuff. They call me the "Ken the beer guy" and just rave about it. They think it's because I am an awesome brewer but in fact I just follow the instructions and do a good job, though I will never tell them that. ;)
Summarizing since my last review was blanked before submitting. Full boil, partial extract (Light DME at beg and Bavarian at flame out), added 1 lb raw honey, Sweet Orange peel, and additional DME. OG = 1.054. Fermented with Starter of WLP320 and added 1 oz of Cascade Dry Hop for 7 days. Primary for 14 days and kegged for 7 days. Everyone loved it, including peeps at local brewery. Will do again soon!Glad MoreBeer added Reviews!Cheers!
