        An alternative to QDs

        If you'd like a super-simple way to add a removable barb to any 1/2" NPT end on your system this is it. I think the big reason to use this over a QD perhaps the only one is in a system like mine where I want to switch between a HERMS coil and a RIMS tube without buying quite a few QDs - one of these replaces 2n+1 QDs with n being the number of NPTs you'd like to add a single hose to

        Okay, if you don't plan on moving hoses around.

        These really cut down on using thread tape, but at the expense of having a really great quick disconnect.We purchased a few with the intention of moving away from the Morebeer stainless quick disconnects but mixing and matching connectors with tubing just wasn't working out. We'll stay with the Morebeer version.Now, if you don't plan on re-routing any hoses during the brew day (say, using the same hose from the mash tun to pump, then from brew kettle to pump)these become a pretty good alternative...
