I don't have a chiller yet, and I only recently got a pump. Why did I buy this? Well, I wanted the option to cool when I expand my operation later. Most importantly though, I wanted to transfer wort straight from the boil to the fermenter and cool in the fermenter prior to pitching. This works great! An added benefit is just post-boil I can do a whirlpool prior to transfer and leave 99% of my trub behind! Try that with an immersion chiller!I have 2 mini Brew Buckets and if I'm doing 2 different brews (which is normal on a brew day) I can cool one, pop this off and the other lid on, then swap this over to the other bucket and cool that too! I'm sure I'll get another when I get a chiller, but for my application one is working great!
