I drilled my own holes for the coolstix immersion chiller. It came with a rubber grommet that if drilled correctly will create a nice seal. I drilled two more holes for airlock and thermometer well. Would highly recommend for customizing/ drilling your own holes.

I drilled hole in lid and added a 1/4 NPT bulkhead. Using with a 1/4 NPT tee for a spunding valve and pressure gauge. Only way fermenter will fit in mini fridge. Have discovered I like this setup better as I can keep a small positive pressure while fermenting (~5 psi).

I got it to keep the inside of the fementer clean while not in use ! works for that the seal don't seam very air tight

Price is right and the shipping was fast. That being said the lid did not come with the thin black rubber o-ring for an air tight seal.

Love having the option of an airtight seal to transport liquids and not worry about leakage around a bucket lid anymore. I do wish that it came with an Oring instead of having to order it separately.

If you have the big FerMonster itself you need to have this lid so you don't have to use an airlock. (Just be sure fermentation is completed before using this lid!)

Is the inside of this lid smooth/flat or does it have a ridge/ring formed into it like the 'drilled"/stopper style?
As of April 2023 the lid I received has a ring on the inside like the stopper style. Still plenty of room to install custom fittings.
No it isn’t and I posted a review including detailed pictures and measurements and morebeer won’t post it because they doctor reviews
I decided to call directly and the Tech help guy confirmed they are indeed flat and smooth inside of the the O ring groove area. Thanks to all.
My solid lids are smooth on the inside.
It has a ridge in it! I tried leaving a review to tell other customers that but morebeer wouldn’t post it presumably because it was not a great rating. The old version used to be flat. The ring is inconvenient if you want to place multiple items on the lid but if you just want a center hole for something you should be good. The ring on the under side is about 45 mm in diameter.
