I've bought 3 of these - one for each fermenter - just too easy install and use. Put a quick hole in a lid and install the bulkhead. Use some star san to lube the tube and insert for correct fit...I cut the excess off with a tubing cutter and flare with a pair of needle nose pliers. Done. Sanitary. Quick. Cheap. Save the offcuts - you never know when you need a little Stainless Steel tubing to attach a blowoff line or with a duotight bulkhead.

I have the same problem as others. The threaded portion of the bulkhead is too short. I can't get it tight enough and it leaks.

Outstanding quality. I'm running a Temp Twister, so I put a very gentle bend in the thermowell tube to separate it from the coils just a little.

This thermowell is much longer that the more expensive ones from other brands. You don't have to have a fermzilla to use it. You could insert it into any bung that is meant for a thermowell.

Title says it all! I use this with the temp controller controlling glycol to the temp twister.

I like the option to add a thermowell. It's a better option for my needs than the brewmometer sticker that comes with the Fermzilla. The main issues I have with it are the location of the thermowell in the lid and the bulkhead seal. The thermowell is positioned just inside the cooling coil when you install both in the lid together. I'm not totally convinced the temp being read by the thermowell isn't being influenced by the temp of the cooling coil. The other issue is that the bulkhead is too short and it comes with a metal nut. The metal nut will barely thread onto the bulkhead and you have to put a lot of tension on the bulkhead and o-ring to catch enough threads to hold it in place. I'm not totally convinced it won't eventually break or leak under pressure.

Works great. I wish there wouldv'e been the recommendation to buy an additional lid with purchase or maybe include a plug to use with the Duotight fitting ($1.50 additional purchase). oOnce you drill the hole for it, you can't use the lid without it.

First things first - Much love to Kegland, their products are fantastic. My only complaint is the DuoTight through bulkhead connection. Can't count how many times I've fished a SS nut out of my beer...The SS nut is too short - meaning it goes up into the pressure cap too far to get a good hold of and it strips the plastic male threads of the DuoTight.I would much rather a plastic wingnut-type connection that I could hold onto and just snug up the tightness and a longer male threaded section to verify the threads are synced before tightening.Instead, I have to make a choice - use a wrench under the cap (that really doesn't fit in the hole where the nut sits under the pressure cap either) and tighten praying not to strip the plastic DuoTight threads ORTry to hold the nut with my fingers and tighten the DuoTight fitting from above and pray the threads are lined up just right so the SS nut doesn't eat the plastic threads and you guessed it - Strip the fitting.

It took me a bit to get the lock nut tight and leak free, however once I did it works like a charm.

I wanted to be able to monitor wort temp more accurately and this is the very thing. Easy to fit.

I use this with just a normal 5 gal bucket to monitor temperature. Its cheaper than the stopper/thermowell combo and seems to work just fine. Just drill/cut out a hole in the lid and you're good to go! I might try drilling a second hole in a stopper if I start getting contamination, but I've done a few batches this way with no problems.

Thermowell would not pass through bulkhead without reaming out threaded portion of bulkhead. Once that was done worked perfectly.

Very happy with the thermowell itself. Much longer than most others you can find, tip is domed as opposed to crimped, and the perfect size for my Inkbird temp probe. Also much cheaper than shorter crimped versions I saw on Amazon. On my 27L Fermzilla it reaches all the way down into the the collection container, I cut it to sit in the middle of the fermenter.The duotight fitting is okay, does the job but there are a few issues.1. It doesn't seem to properly lock against the stainless steel. When you push it in and then pull the little ring that should come down doesn't, and you can still pull it back out without having to compress the ring. I think it's because this fitting was designed to work with soft tubing, not stainless steel. It still holds the thermwell, and takes a good pull to get it back out, but could be better.2. The fitting itself is plasic, but it comes with a metal nut to secure it to the lid, which stripped the plastic fitting immediatly. I noticed this before I started installing it, so I was being very careful to tighten it with very little force and a very short wrench, but it stripped the plastic threads immediatly, nothing a little glue can't fix, but I would advise to only hand tighten.
