Can Fresh Aluminum Beer Cans w/ Full Aperture Lids - 500ml/16.9 oz. (Case of 207)

    Description

    These large opening cans with full aperture pull off lid make for an easier drinking experience right out of the can. No need to pour into a glass, enjoy straight from the can and toss in the recycling when you're done! They also work great for canning olives, mushrooms, or other hot fill food applications.

    Aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There's still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans form a much better seal, which can prevent these issues.

    Aside from better protection, aluminum cans are undoubtedly the safest option for sharing and enjoying your homebrew. Bring your canned creations tailgating, camping, boating, or crack a few open poolside without the worry of broken glass!

        Is there any guidance on hot food fill applications as described above? I can’t find any resources on this process.

        At this time I do not have any guidance from the manufacturer about hot-fill applications. In general the process of hot-filling will make sure that the food and the container reach sanitary temperatures required for pasteurization. In my experience with canning beverages as the liquid inside cools you will lose pressure inside the can and the can will get a soft/collapsed appearance and feel. This usually has no effect on the seal of the can and it will still be safe to drink/eat.

        Are these standard 202 cans that will work on any (All-American/Oktober) machines?

        Yes they are but only difference is they are 500ml and a little taller then 16oz cans. As long as you can adjust the can height on the seamer you should be fine. I was able to seam 16oz cans from Oktober on the Cannular by adding beer but gaskets to adjust for the height.

        No they are not. They are 500ml which is actually 16.9oz. I don't know if your Okbrober machine will adjust for the extra height but they are taller than standard American 16oz 202 cans.

        I have the SL1 Oktober seamer these cans work well with the B64/202 head.

        These cans are 16.9oz vs 16 oz same 202 lids as most others they are just taller you will need to adapt your base somehow (lower) so you can use these taller cans.
