There are no caps included with the carboy, By accident, I found that non-child proof caps for prescription meds will fit.
Seems to be to be good quality glass, however I found that a #6 stopper was a little to small to stay in place during fermentation.
Jar hold water. I like that the jar hold water
These jugs were of good quality thanks ??
Good quality just hope inventory keeps up with demand during these times of shortages.
I bought the jars for decorations at my daughters wedding. Wedding isn't until November but I have played around with them. I think they will be great. Customer service and shipping were great.
#6 rubber stopper does not fit this -- too loose

Exactly what I needed at the best price I could find.
These carboys are quality and sturdy. Easy to clean and puts up with the fair amount of abuse I subject all my equipment to. That being said I don't to anything like drop tests or anything, but the occasional bang against the floor or stone countertops seem to not phase the glass. Very good quality.
I used to use 5 gallon carboys. This method was time consuming, heavy and kind of took the fun out of the hobby. I recently switched to these gallon jugs and can't believe that I used those old carboys for so long. These are easy to use, much lighter and, I believe, more fun that carboys. Using these allows you to make a bunch of different brews rather than focusing on a single 5 gallon batch.-Josh
Perfect for storing honey.
These work great for my use. Remember to buy the lids for them though.
Love, clear 1 Gallon Glass Jar With screw cap.
Just what we're been wanting for years to hold our drinking water. Heavy duty. Great quality. Good packaging and delivery. Thx much!

Good glass jugs. What more can I say?

Splitting a batch up between a few of these one gallon jars makes trying different things fun and you don't ruin an entire batch that way. Oak, flavorings, hops, fruit anything you can think of.

I don't use for small batches, but some of those big beers (like the imperial saison i brewed a few weeks ago) will benefit from up to a 3L starter.

When working on a new recipe, I often use 5 of these 1-gallon jugs as secondary fermentors to try out various dry hop combos and flavorings. Why wait for a whole brew cycle to make one adjustment to a new recipe when you can make 5 adjustments, pick the best result, and move on from there! These are also great to have around for the occasional small batch of mead or wine or whatever.

I am very happy with the jar and it is the cheapest I have found.

These jars are a cheap way to experiment with your homebrew. They are for those of us who like to compare the effects of say, dry hopping with different hops, or adding different fruit flavors/ flavor combos, or trying the effects of different yeast strains on the same base beer. You can simply brew a regular 5 gal batch, pour it off to (5) 1 gallon jars, or some into a 3 gallon carboy and the rest into (2) 1 gallon jars (my go-to choice). So even if you don't get the best results in the world- it's only 1 gallon that you sacrificed, and hey- you learned something by doing it. And unless its contaminated, it's probably still good enough to drink as a "failed attempt." Better than bud light at it's best (which is done on purpose believe it or not!)
Does this jug work well with a stir bar on a stir plate?
