Fantastic yeast, chugs quickly and cleanly

The Imperial yeast brand is my favorite to use and I used Flagship for a hoppy pale. With a starter and stir plate, the yeast was ready to go and ferm was done in 3-4 days (1050 SG). Fantastic yeast.

Amazing yeast and company. The viability of Imperial yeast packs is incredible. I always make a starter and the amount of slurry I get from an Imperial yeast pack is epic. I usually pitch on the low end of the temp range and still need to deal with blow offs. Great product and company.

        Great Yeast

The Lag time on this yeast was less about 16 hours. All 200 billion yeast cells are hard at work. Cannot wait to try out the flavor that this adds. Will buy again!

        Outperformer!

Normally I get a starter batch going a few days before brew day but I was pressed for time. Pitched this yeast right after transferring from the brew kettle to my Fermzilla. Pitched at about 71 degrees. Fermented under natural pressure (capped at 14PSI) for 1 week. My reading this morning had be at about 79% attenuation on my Pliney the Elder clone. My O.G. was 1.069 and todays reading is 1.014. Took a sample of the beer along with the hydrometer reading and it is a solid brew, no funky flavors just all my hops I added. During the fermentation from day 2 to day 5 the yeast were eating so furiously I had to show my wife and kids. My 7 year old asked me to explain why there was a tornado of activity in the fermentation tank. Highly recommend! I will try this strain again with a bigger DIPA.

Great yeast works fast but wish there was a warning for new brewers . After using this yeast for the first time the foam (Krausen) was pouring out of the airlock. I bought another fermenter a 7gal one to avoid this and use a blow off tube for my 6 gal fermenter. I learned about top cropping yeast so I do this each week with this yeast.

Imperial yeast is the best yeast brand I have found! No need for a starter. No need to smack a day ahead of brewing. Fast stars and fast finish. Flagship is great clean yeast that lets malt and hop flavors stand out!

Seems to have done the trick

I was a little worried cuz the yeast was a bit old. I made a yeast starter since I was trying a DIPA. Woke up the next morning and the wort had blown the air lock off and it was frothing out. Transferred to secondary after two weeks and the gravity seems to be where it's supposed to be. So, I think this yeast is good if it can handle DIPA duties. Won't know for sure for a few weeks.

Fastest Starting Yeast I have used

I made a 2000 ML starter with my yeast because it was a little warm when it arrived. I sat in the fridge for about 4 days before I got a chance to brew. I pitched in in the late afternoon and when I got up the next morning I was amazed at the amount of blow off I had, definitely needed a larger jar or bucket for this one. This was Fastest Starting Yeast I have used!

        My new go to yeast!

Talk about bang for your buck. I make large starters and get a number of brews out of one pack. This yeast takes off fast and finishes fast as well. I usually ferment at 65-66 and get a very clean beer with hops that shine.

        Great yeast - Explosive entrance!

I shook up a can of this & opened it! WEAR GLASSES to protect your eyes! It did blow! However, in the beer it was on fire! This product launched against a 1.068 OG & finished out in 8 days at 1.043 FG. Two weeks later I was enjoying a might fine dark porter! I would recommend this product but I caution, it's entrance will be one to remember!

        Great Yeast

This stuff is amazing! I pitched 2 cans of this into a 5l starter for a 15 gallon batch of an Imperial IPA which in got done in 11 days. Harvested the yeast after primary and did another 5l starter to pitch into a 1bbl 1.115 Barley Wine and it finished it out at 1.029 in 20 days. Thoroughly impressed with the yeast but will have to get used to working with the can, it is pretty difficult to get all of it out. I would suggest leaving these out for a while to warm up and giving them a good shake once warm and then allow them to resettle then open. I had one can explode all over and another one that didn't, both from the same manufacturing date. For the price of the can only being $3 more than competitors and getting double the cell count is great if you are doing larger batches and need a lot of yeast without breaking the bank. The IIPA came out pretty clear after sitting in the fridge, not crystal clear but pretty close.

Great Yeast! Novel concept. Needs some tweaks.

I used this "flagship" yeast in a 11 gallon batch of 1.064 wort that was properly oxygenated at a temperature of 68 degrees. Healthy fermentation in less than 12 hours and peaking at 18 hours. This beer is still fermenting and overall I am pleased with the performance of this product. The only surprise is that the entire lid of this can pops off when the tab is pulled. I did not look, and only assumed (yeah I know...) that there was a mouth to the can. So far so good. Will update as required.

Amazing yeast in an unreliable package

Five stars for the yeast itself; I've never had yeast start up so quickly! I had to take a star away for the terrible can. I did not shake the can but the internal pressure caused significant blow out as soon as I tried opening the tab. Speaking of the tab, it's flimsy and poorly placed. It does NOT adequately open the can. I don't know if this is because of placement or because it's so flimsy. Either way it severely needs to be addressed. I'll continue to use it on account of how awesome the yeast performs but I'll be keeping a can opener handy.

The A07 Imperial pouch arrived swollen. I hadn't seen an Imperial pouch swollen before. Is the yeast still healthy? Or should I return it?

        MoreBeer!

First great yeast selection. I have used there yeast several times. One pouch in the past was slightly swelled. But I always create a yeast starter to make sure the yeast is ready to go when adding to the brew. So you should have a no problem as long as the date of expiration is with in the manufactures suggested use by date.Still think yeast starter you will never go back.

        MoreBeer!

I have had swollen pouches before they most likely got up to pitching temp. I used them without any issues just use a starter if you can.
