"top" is a 1/4 inch flare type connection. If your end has a nut and a matching dished out female part you are all set. Other option if not flare might be to use hose barbs and clamps.

Yes I would recommend a flare washer if connecting this QD to a metal fitting but not to a plastic fitting (e.g. DuoTight). You are correct: metal to metal = leak!

It is not an "O" ring but a nylon seat that is needed. Some female fitting have this already built in many do not so you will need to add it. Search "Flare Fitting Washer" on the More Beer site if the product attachment dose not work. Always remember to "Relax. Don't Worry. Have a Home Brew!"

caution - If you remove the snap ring is is very very easy for one of the 3 ball bearings to 'escape'.

Yes. I use it with both my corny kegs and Sankey with an adapter. Works great. Much better than the plastic connectors.

It does. I have several and use them with two types of coney kegs and the ball lock gas adapters for sankey taps with no problems. However it will not fit Torpedo kegs as it does not lock into place.

Yes- but only on the "gas" post. Also these can be a bit tricky to get properly attached. It is a good idea to spray both the post and the ball lock with some star-san to help it attach.

This is a ball lock (Pepsi) fitting and won’t fit pin lock (Coke) kegs. Both types are called Cornelius kegs. I don’t know which you call “standard” I have both types.
