Lallemand | LalBrew® CBC-1 Cask & Bottle Conditioning Yeast | Dry Beer Yeast

    Description

    • LalBrew CBC-1™ was selected for Cask and Bottle Conditioning applications due to its high resistance to alcohol and pressure
    • Neutral flavor profile and does not metabolize maltotriose, therefore the original character of the beer is preserved after refermentation
    • Also an ideal strain for primary fermentation of dry ciders, mead and hard-seltzer
    • Lallemand premium brewing yeast offers brewers unmatched consistency, reliability and purity from one batch of beer to the next

The true solution to under carbonated, bottle conditioned beers! CBC-1 is a great choice for fermenting beers destined for bottle conditioning, especially higher-alcohol styles. A fast starter and robust strain which can be used to ferment/re-ferment beers up to 14% ABV. The flavor is neutral, therefore the original character of the beer is preserved. The yeast will settle and form a tight mat at the end of refermentation. LalBrew® CBC-1 can also be used for primary fermentation of dry ciders or mead. Maltotriose is not metabolized during primary fermentation of beer, so LalBrew® CBC-1 is well suited for sweeter fruit beers or fullbodied, malty ales.

Primary Beer Styles: fruit beers, full-bodied, malty beers, dry cider and mead
    Bottle Conditioning: all beer styles
    Aroma: Neutral
Fermentation Range: Primary 68°F (Refermentation: 59-77°F)
Alcohol Tolerance: Primary 18% ABV (Refermentation: 12-14% ABV)

        champagne-like

Used with Philly sour yeast in a Berliner Weisse. Gave the session ale a nice champagne-like fizz; small bubbles. Everyone enjoyed this character. Will def use again.

Better carbonation in high ABV beers

It's my second purchase for my high gravity beers. I learned a lot from my first use.

        Works as advertised

Used 2 g. of this along with 200 g sugar to keg-carbonate a 3 gal. keg of Saison. Wrapped keg with a heat mat and like magic, in 2 weeks, the keg was up to 40 psi. Nicely carbonated after chilling the keg to 40 degrees.

        Re-pitch for bottle-priming

I have used this yeast several times for bottling big beers or beers that have aged a long time. I never want to rely on the fermentation yeast having enough life left to bottle prime. Fresh yeast gets it carbed up, no problemo. Rehydrate in a few ozs of water and pitch into the beer in the bottling bucket. Give it a gentle stir and bottle.

        Good conditioning yeast

Use it for keg conditioning IPAs. Ferments up the priming sugar in 7-10 days so it does work fast. Have not noticed it imparting any new yeast flavors from using it as a conditioning yeast.

        It Works Every Time

CBC-1 is now a standard part of my brewing procedure, I use it every time I bottle. Say goodbye to flat beer.

The true solution to undercarbed bottle conditioned beers. Is truly neutral in contribution to beer flavour. now my beers always carb up consistently.

        Exactly as advertisted

Bought this to use as bottling yeast when bottling a 14 month old Oud Bruin. It did a fine job carbonating the beer, and I plan on using this in the future with any other beers I plan on letting ferment for a long period of time.

Great for bottle conditioning when the original yeast is at its limit.

I used this yeast to bottle condition a 12%ABV Double IPA. The previous batch hadn't carbonated up well using just the original yeast. With the CBC-1 it worked perfectly, Just added it to the bottling bucket and gently mixed it in along with the priming sugar. Best part is except the carbonation there was no difference in the flavor of the two batches, even though my storage area was at 71 degrees. This is a very clen and neutral yeast
