These quick connects work great on my glycol lines. I can easily switch from cooling jacket to fermenter without a drip. I used hydraulic quick connects prior and they start to rust immediately when in contact with glycol.

I tried to create a dry disconnect to my counterflow cooler using pairs of male & female QDs with shutoff valves and learned two important things: First, the valve mechanism reduces the bore, so it is not a full-flow fitting, which is a consideration if using in a cooling loop. Second, the spring-loaded plunger mechanism is very prone to clogging by any hop or cold break material - this both interferes with flow AND can result in leakage when disconnected due to the plunger being unable to fully close. These QDs work, but be aware of their limitations . . .

The first version I made didn't have the shutoff valve, and it made for a messy brew day!
