This bag works very well. Just don't use it if your kettle has a thermowell. The well punches holes into the bag very easily. Just remove the thermowell before making your brew.

I can easily fit the grain volume needed to a 5 gallon brew. The webbing is strong and can support the bag while hoisted. However, this is my 2nd time ordering this bag and, like another reviewer mentioned, holes developed the very first time. The first bag held up much better which makes me wonder if this one is exactly the same bag being sold as before.

Plus 2 lbs rice hulls in 15 lbs grain instead of 20 grain+1 lb hulls, and strike water to top of grain bed--7.5 instead of 6.5 gallons...with fluidized bed and this screen can now run the pump rate up sufficiently to expedite step mash temperature increases--was taking hours at low flows, and then stuck totally halfway through, nothing worked---holes in basket plugged, bag solved it totally, does not plug or slow flow rate. Still no 1.1 OG was getting with gas fired kettle/ice cream maker stirrer...but passable 1.055 so far. Try less water next time, can always add more. Bag tears easily on screws sticking out of grain basket when you dump the grain so remove the bolts and use flatheads, sewed the holes shut with sewing machine ok,. Maybe ditch the basket and use false bottom with this bag and get better flow through the bottom of the grain bed.

Fits perfectly in my 15 gallon keg boiler. The 4 nylon straps are well stitched and the loops are strong. I would buy again.

But at < 1/2 the cost, it'll do. It's a "budget Brew Bag," and I think the Brew Bag, while nice, is a bit overengineered and consequently too expensive. This has similar craftsmanship and quality at a fraction of the price, so if you hang your bag above your kettle while the water is heating and the heat melts some holes in your bag (guess it wasn't high enough), you'll only be mildly aggravated instead of extremely aggravated at your lapse in judgment.Fortunately I know nothing about that...

While I haven't used the grain bag yet I will confirm that it just fits the Ss BrewTech 20 Gal eKettle for electric brewing. Bag fits snugly around the top rim and goes all the way down to the bottom. The bag mesh itself is of decent quality and should last a good period with normal use. Stitching all seems good. Love the 4 loops to hook to a winch to lift and suspend over ekettle to drain making light work of lifting the wet grains out of this bad boy pot.

The bag holds more than enough grain and supports the wet weight of it. be very careful if you have a thermometer in your kettle as the probe will puncture the bag easily. I learned this lesson the hard way....and again the next day during another session lol.

My overused BIAB was showing signs of deterioration, i.e. holes, probably caused by banging the stir paddle on the rim of the Boil Kettle . (TAKE NOTE NOT TO DO THIS!). After replacing my old bag with this one that has reinforced loops, and installing a pulley system in my kitchen ceiling, to assist with the extraction, confidence was dramatically increased that wert would not splash all over the stove.
