I started using this on my brewdays and now everything else in my life is just going great! It's like switching insurance but with ph meters. but really, just the best one out there for home use. right on target every time thanks to this guy.

I use to measure ph for best time to harvest wine grapes. This is accurate and easy to use.

I found the Milwaukie pH meter easy to use and consistent in delivering accurate measurements of my wine testings.

I brew commercially and at home, this is the best pH meter you can get for the money.

A must for checking PH during all grain mashing. My first running's were well over 6.0, which releases a lot on tannin into my beer.

From the reviews I thought this was going to be a pretty easy to use straight forward piece of equipment. I’ve been brewing for years but never cared too much about my sparge or mash pH. The equipment seems sturdy and well built. It was easy to calibrate after watching a short video online. It would have been helpful if I had known you needed the calibration chemicals but luckily there was a small amount enough for the first calibration. It works pretty decently for room temperature samples but gives crazy readings if you don’t try to cool you water quite a bit. The temp and pH probes are a little clumsy to use. Overall a good meter but takes a bit to get used to

Great unit. I should have purchased this one in the first place instead of a cheaper one. Well worth the money if you are serious about your wort ph. Also very easy to use.

Great pH meter for advanced brewers, or those bent on advancing their brewing and consistency.

Easy to calibrate, easy to use and seems pretty reliable. I wish it came with a case. Luckily I was able to find one relatively cheap at the local hardware store.

Intuitive to operate with decent instructions for calibration and use. First probe lasted about a 1 1/2 years, so I'm glad replacement is not too expensive. I use mine for about one brew a month taking several reading through the day and calibrate prior to each use. The thermometer quickly tells you the temperature and I cool my wort in a water bath (stainless straight sided pint in pyrex pitcher) until below 25 C to prevent bulb damage. I get consistent readings on repeat measures. Important to keep the probe slowly moving since it is a membrane and 'destroys' as it sample. If you leave is resting in the sample you will get an incorrect value. Helpful videos on the Milwaukee site if you have not used a pH meter before.

I’m assuming it’s accurate. It is, however, cumbersome to use. It takes two people - one to hold the probes in the mash and another to hold and read the meter. It also needs to be calibrated using ph liquids each time - again requiring two people. I didn’t bother using it for my last brew, as I just didn’t want to deal with the extra hassle —- but in San Francisco we have great water and are usually very close to target ph in my mash anyway. I would say try one of the cheaper one-handed meters that may not be as accurate, prob give you a reasonably accurate reading without the headache. We’re just making home brew. Doesn’t need to be super exact to make great tasting beer. Good luck.

Great and easy to use!

Had a pHep from Hanna for years until one day I was suspicious. Had changed electrodes twice before but just didn't trust it anymore. Decided to try the Milwaukee and I'm not really appreciating it all that much. With the pHep you stick the whole meter into a beaker. With the Milwaukee with two too long cords I know I'm going to snag something on the bench and that something will end up on the floor. Just hope it won't be anything expensive.BTW, after cleaning the electrode with Hanna's special wine cleaner, both the pHep and the Milwaukee read the same. Now trying to figure out why the wine lab's pH results were .o8 higher. Who you gonna trust? I'm sticking with pHep.

Its great, but I'm finding that all PH meters can be finicky and I'm constantly checking the meter and/or recalibrating. The instructions are not too clear on the calibration of the device in setting two points. I suggest looking up the online youtube video from Milwaukee about calibrating it and writing it down. Also make sure you take a big enough sample or us a thinner beaker for samples of wort or water, cool it down in a small ice bath and submerge most of the temperature probe into the sample to get a better and fast reading with the probe. Never let the probe dry out and never leave it sitting in the sample or RO/distilled water for long periods, us the storage solution.All that said it is a great and very useful needed tool on our brewing days.

Great product, simple to use and works well.

If you are going to mess around with water and mash adjustments, you need this meter. Just make sure you treat the probe properly, store in the proper solution between uses, don't use this straight in the MLT. Pull a sample and chill it to room temp. Not only is it the proper way to take a pH reading, it extends the life of the probe.

I recently picked this pH meter up as I've begun to build my water from scratch, and needed to quickly and accurately measure my mash pH. I found this meter easy to set up and calibrate, and I haven't had any issues at all with mine. The display is large and easy to read. Readings come back in less than 30 seconds, and this meter has a great "lock screen" feature to set your readings to record in your brewing logs.Overall, this is a great and easy to use product.

I have used cheaper ph meters and they don't work very well. This device is easy to calibrate and use. The ATC feature makes it very easy to check the ph of the mash.

This is a must for any all grain brewer. It is easy to use and it was super simple to get it regulated. This was the first product I purchased when I was having some efficiency issues, I realized my pH was off and it allowed me to get a more stable pH and better efficiency. I also love the temperature gauge on it to help keep the mash temp consistent (cooler system).

A great and reliable little pH meter. You can pay a lot more for other meters but you wont get any better reliability. It has become one of the most important devices in my lab equipment.

I previously messed around with ph paper. Hated using them. They arnt very accurate, lots of potential for user error. This meter is great. I hang the probes into my mash tun and use a small bungee to secure it. This lets me monitor my mash ph and fine tune it with additions. I've really increased my efficency by lowering my sparge water ph. Its a well designed product. Sturdy, wipes clean. The probes are strong and they have screw in connections. If you are concerned about water chemistry, get a water test. I was suprised to find my water ph was over 8. Hard to get good efficency with that. In short, great for fine tuning mash and sparge water. Well made easy to use and sturdy. Price might seem high but wait for it to be the deal of the day, its worth it.

I have to give this ph meter 4 out of 5 stars. The ph meter that I purchased over a year ago still works like a charm I only calabrated it once and it has not needed to be recalabrated since. The only down side that I dont like about it is the actual size of the ph meter.
