I tested my starting gravity after brewing a batch with this malt and the great western, and with everything else held constant, I noted a slightly lower gravity reading, which I think means there's just less sugar to extract from this grain . . . or it may have been older or dryer - hard to tell exactly. Either way, I guess you get what you pay for.

I just finished off a 55 pound bag of this malt. I used it to make everything from American Pale and Amber ales to English Brown to Milk Stout. Never any problems with efficiency or fermentation. Great color, too. Recommend this to anyone as a go-to base malt.

This 2 Row malted grain results in a wonderful light gold color and does not overwhelm the particular flavor I sought to create. Spruce tip!

Great 2row barely for SMASH or IPA

Same extract rate as American 2 row. Fermentation started strong and finished faster than the American 2 row had in the past. I like this malt a lot.

This is a great base malt, somewhere between pils and 2-row, a great light malt flavor with a low price and great flavor, acts more like pils than 2-row.

Good flavor in a SMASH beer but low efficiency. I ordered milled as usual since I don’t have a mill but knew from the start efficiency would be low since it was mostly husks. Even did a 90 min mash hoping to compensate. Don’t know if that’s bad milling or bad grain but won’t be using again.

The milling was a little fine, but I definitely prefer too fine to too coarse. I've only used it in stouts so far I think, so I can't speak too much to the color, but I hit my gravity targets, and the flavor is on point. Does its job.

Good Malts - Great Price.

Figured I'd give this a try in a Galaxy hopped pale ale and I wasn't disappointed. Like most pale ale malt, this has more malt character and is a little darker, and it adds a bit more complexity to the flavor. For the price, it can't be beat! Moprebeer rocks!

I brewed a belgian ale with it . After a month, I tried it and didn't think it was all that good. Five months in the cold later, it had gotten excellent. My sister thought it was the best I'd brewed yet

Got the shipment on time and used it in a Russian River Blind Pig clone. It’s still being dry hopped so haven’t tasted it but the OG was almost perfect.

I purchased a sack of this when it was on sale for $25 i think. I have brewed 3 beers using this with the same result, it comes out amber as opposed to the 3 lovibond as the specs suggest. It looked like an amber ale and was far more rich than expected. Still a good product but I wonder if "pale ale malt" from this European maltster means English style.just my two cents and still a good product.
