I have always used these clips on water filters and faucet installations. There is a very very small chance the hoses will dislodge on their own but for pocket change it's worth the peace of mind the hoses are locked in and there's no chance of accidentally disconnecting them

Although these are probably not needed in most cases I use them for insurance and peace of mind. I really like the DuoTight fittings that have the flat molded into them as a little recess for these clips.
