It's hard to find real rubber gaskets for swing cap bottles. When you do a search, even though the results are for rubber gaskets, almost all of them are actually silicone. I tried several different brands of silicone ones and found that they all lost carbonation over time. It really surprised me. I thought that them being more pliable would create a better seal. It does not. You need real rubber. Once I switched to these, I no longer had problems losing carbonation. Several "picky" points:- Because they don't compress as much as the silicone ones, the bales are harder to close. That's a good thing. It's that tight seal that does the trick.- They're hard to put on the caps. Apply a thin coat of keg lube to both sides. It helps them go on easier and it will keep the rubber fresh.- I've used around 60 of them so far. Around a half-dozen were rejects - either too thick or too think. I can live with that.- They're the typical rubber color which I would call pink, not brown.- FWIW, they're actually gaskets, not washers. A washer distributes load; gaskets form a seal.
