Bought this to go with my 1gal keg for a party-portable keg for sharing my beer. Works perfectly. NOTE: I found is that the CO2 cartridge required is larger than the ones I had from that "trigger operated" dispensing device. You must use the larger 74gm cartridge.

I "bottle condition" in a 2.5gal keg. Have been using the 16g cartridges to dispense. Kinda of a pain and the thingy was starting to malfunction a bit so I purchased one of these. When my kids were teenagers we used to do paint ball and I have a large co2 tank along with some 7oz co2 cannisters. I connected one of these to the regulator and it works perfectly.
Awesome for taking a keg to a BBQ or party and a lot easier than lugging a full size CO2 canister and regulator. Very easy to attach and use, no problems dialing in the pressure, and held the correct pressure without issue.
Took my keg on the road camping and the mini regulator worked great.
I use it on 64oz keg style growlers. It's very easy to use and keeps desired pressure. I would personally recommend this product.
I really like the convenience but the cartridges are a little pricey.
Curious onlookers would turn the dial. This caused CO2 to be dumped each time it was turned down. A cartridge per keg gets expensive. Needs a child-proof lock (I couldn't resist).
This regulator is perfect for the times when hauling a larger cylinder is impractical. The unit works well but as others have mentioned a bit tricky to obtain a desired pressure. However with only a little patience, it holds its setting well and works without issue.

I've used this mini CO2 regulator several times at neighborhood gatherings and have been mostly satisfied with the product. The regulator is quite loose/sensitive so you have to be very careful when turning turning the nob and choosing your set pressure. Starting off with the right pressure in your keg will be very important as well. At the last gathering, I lost an entire new CO2 cartridge in a matter of minutes....not happy.
Works quite well and is compact for travel, camping, etc. No hoses, no large canister.
Are the co2 canisters single use or can you disconnect the ball lock and use again?
I turn off the gas in the device then disconnect from my minikeg whe the keg is empty then connect to a new keg later. This is assuming you have minikeg larger keg my use the whole cartrege.
You can turn the pressure down to 0 and remove. I have had one with a CO2 canister on it for over a year and it always has pressure when I need to use it again.
CAN THIS BE SAFELY USED WITH AN ADAPTER WITH A 'STANDARD' CO2 TANK LIKE A 2.5 OR 5 POUND TANK?
You may use this regulator with a full size CO2 tank since the maximum input pressure into this regulator is 800 psi. That being said you will have to find a lot of pieces to adapt from the standard CO2 tank fitting down to the 1/4" flare threads on this mini regulator.
With an adapter yes I've used one in this way.
I do not know if this mini-regulator can be SAFELY used with a standard CO2 tank because I have only used it with a 74 gram CO2 cartridge purchased from MoreBeer.
I don't know. Sorry. Doesn't seem to me like it should be used that way.
No I am not sure if there is a crazy adapter to make it work but the regulator being questioned in my experience is only for single use co2 cartridges. Item# D1060 from morebeer is the regulator I recommend for the 2.5 or 5lb and up size tanks. Smooth adjustment nob and easy to read pressure.
What size threading is this?
5/8" UNF to fit 74 gram CP2 cartridges.
The regulator has 1/4'' female flare threads to connect to a disconnect and 5/8'' threads for the KEG962 - 74g CO2 cartridge.
Will the KEG960 work with the 18g Nitrogen Cartridge and if so will that push a 5Gal keg of stout?
Yes it will work if done through a picnic tap at lower PSI.
I used a same setup to push two 2.5 kegs of black IPA and 2.5 West Coast IPA after that. It still has some left. So I think you’d be fine pushing 1 five through.
I believe it has internal relief valve so you'd never get pressure up to 30+ PSI I used for nitro
