This Tester was recommended by Smart Winemaking and The Home Winemaking Channel and it has been a wine saver, Excellent results.
Instructions easy to follow and super easy to use, making SO2 analysis and additions a breeze!
I absolutely love my new Vinmetrics SC-100A SO2 Analyzer Kit. I build a box to house my new kit. I was using the Hanna Instruments Mini Titrator for Measuring Titratable Acidity. It was putting me in the poor house with the maintenance of the parts to keep it operational. This kit is easy to use, accurate with fewer parts to maintain. I plan on adding a Lab Support Stand and Magnetic Stirrer. The box was easy to build and will protect the electrode and chemicals.
Works very well. Takes a little practice to zero in on the end point.
It is simple to use and very accurate. My only complaint is that is took a long time (a month) to arrive to my Canadian address because it was held in customs for an unknown reason.
I recently used the Vinmetrica SC-100A kit and am very pleased with how the instrument performed. I used it to check the free SO2 level on three wines that are aging. I’m more confident now in knowing how much free SO2 I really have versus what I thought I had. I also like the fact that the kit comes with everything needed to perform the tests.
I am very happy with the equipment. The instructions are bad and I had to go to YouTube to learn how to use it right.
MoreBeerI am very pleased with the meter and kit supplies. It is easy to use and has helped out so much.Drew Howell
This has taken the guess-work out of sulfite adjustments. It takes less than 5 minutes for entire procedure. No more premature oxidation/spoilage problems due to incorrect sulfite additions. A great tool to have.
The SC-100 is easy to use and gives reproducible results on free SO2 in wine. You need a good pH meter as well, but it allows accurate SO2 determination and is much cheaper and faster than sending wine samples out for analysis, which is the only other option.
Perfect meter to help keep the SO2 in check. Easy to use and great improvement in our finished wines.
Worked well but should have came with ph test strips or notified they are nessasry to do the test.Would've got 5 stars.
Maybe a bit fiddly if you have not performed analytical methods via titration before but I found the method reasonable and able to direct me towards appropriate addition amounts for my wines in process (barrel aging) and bottling. I think it has the appropriate fidelity for the hobby wine maker vs. just periodically adding bisulfate on a guess. I recommend this product. The only reason I gave 4 stars vs. 5 is there is no detailed information regarding the titrant and reagents so you are beholding to Vinmetrica to buy more from them.
I give this a 4 Star only because I have just used it a few times. But I appreciate this item because I no longer have to guess at the shade of pink/purple with the accuvin free SO2 tests. Also this will be much more cost effective especially now that I perform more free SO2 tests with the variety of wines I make. This takes a tad bit more time to test free SO2 but I feel much more confident with my readings now.
Easy to use. I like the audible tone that tells you when you are close to your endpoint. Test takes literally 2 minutes. Accuracy seems pretty good.
The Vinmetrica works great. Once it is set up I can speed through multiple wines in no time and know my SO2 levels are correct
Very pleased with this tester. I also purchased the aeration-oxidation and have tested them on the same wine at the same time and found them to verify each other. This way is much simpler and faster. Outstanding device. Would recommend without reservationOne piece of advice.. purchase an inexpensive magnetic stir plate. helps to mix the sample while performing the test
As a commercial winemaker for Camp Creek Cellars, I have used the Vinmetrica SO-2 analysis system for the past two years. There is a learning curve for the titrations, but once you get it down this system is wonderful. We run 20 samples at a time every 6-8 weeks and the probe has lasted two years without problems. Our savings from this system have been significant. Now they just need to develop a nitrogen analysis system for crush!!
I have used this device in the last harvest with good success. It does take a bit of getting used to the titration technique but based upon my trials with known sulfur addition and testing known free sulfur content in commercial wines, I have found the measurement to be quite reliable.
I have a Apera ph 60 tester and was wondering if I should get the Vinmetrica sc100 or sc300 so2 ? I do about 50 gallons of wine a year and didnt know if spending another 200 dollars was worth it any suggestions would be appreciated.
The SC-300 is a great tool. It is very useful to have all the meters you need in one convenient and streamlined device. The extra functionality is really nice since you're going to run those tests anyway usually.
