Jamil brews more, consistently high-quality beer than any hombrewer we know. He won California Homebrewer of the Year in 2002, after winning over 150 total awards at brewing competitions, 55 of them being First Place. Of all the beers that he brews, the Chocolate Hazlenut Porter (CHP, as Jamil says) is the cult favorite and the recipe he is asked for the most. It also won Best of Show 2002, several First Place ribbons, and countless other awards. It comes complete with 25 ml of Hazlenut extract and 4 oz of Cacao Nibs. Jamil recommends using California yeast, WLP001. This kit has a lot of grain in it, so you may find two grain bags useful.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

5112 is a strain of wild yeast that was isolated from brewery cultures in the Brussels region of Belgium
Produces the classic “sweaty horse blanket” character of indigenous beers such as gueuze, lambics and sour browns
Activator Smack-Pack System™ "proofs" the yeast and shortens lag time when it hits your wort
When smacked, the Activator™ packet releases sugars and nutrients to initiate the culture's metabolism
Wyeast has been a pioneer in craft brewing for over 35 years and is committed to creating the finest fermentation products available
Although beneficial, cultures do not need to be activated prior to inoculation
This strain of wild yeast was isolated from brewery cultures in the Brussels region of Belgium. It produces the classic “sweaty horse blanket” character of indigenous beers such as gueuze, lambics and sour browns and may form a pellicle in bottles or casks. The strain is generally used in conjunction with S. cerevisiae, as well as other wild yeast and lactic bacteria. At least 3-6 months aging is generally required for flavor to fully develop.

For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.
Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.
Light and easy drinking with low bitterness
Our Gluten Free recipes use Sorghum extract for the base fermentables
Includes 100% Saaz hops
Estimated ABV: 5.1%
Estimated IBUs: 16
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
This light ale recipe is the most basic gluten free kit we offer. An ideal first low gluten brew so you can get an idea of what malt flavors sorghum contributes to beer. This recipe is light and easy drinking.
Gluten-Free beers are a different world when it comes to finding a suitable replacement for the base extract. Celiacs are allergic to the hordein protein found in the base malts such as 2-Row and Pilsner malt. They are also allergic to the gliadin protein found in wheat which is the biggest offender of the two proteins. As a homebrewer your goal is to find a suitable fermentable that can emulate the maltiness in beer.
Our Gluten Free recipes use Sorghum extract for the base fermentables. Hops aggressively cut through the maltiness from sorghum easily. Hop additions in gluten free beers tend to be 40-50% less than normal.
All our gluten-free kits include dry yeast due to the small traces of the gliadin protein found in liquid yeast. (Although lab research has found the yeast metabolize the gliadin protein after fermentation and significantly reduce the ppm present.)

Premium, Fire-Toasted Oak Cubes from Stavin Heavy Toast American Oak will impart flavors of char, spice and roasted coffee; with hints of vanilla and butterscotch. These fire-toasted oak cubes are as close as you can come to the full range of flavors you would get from aging your beer in a full sized barrel, unlike convection-toased cubes. The difference is that convection toasted cubes are made by cutting the stave to size, then passing the small cubes through a toasting chamber. Stavin fire-toasts their staves whole, just like they would when making a barrel, and then cuts them down to size. The result is a gradation of toasting from the surface through to the center of the cube, where each different toast level represents a different flavor set that the oak will give your beer. The result is a much more complex and natural profile; by comparison convection toasted cubes taste one dimensional. Oak cubes also release their flavor into your beer more slowly than chips, giving you more control over the final degree of impact in your beer. You should plan on an extended aging period of 1-6 months when using cubes. This longer contact time again promotes flavor complexity by allowing all the flavors of the oak and your beer to marry. Recommended Dosage is 2 oz per 5 gallons for impact equivalent to aging in a brand new oak barrel. Download the PDF

White Koji is an exciting new specialty ingredient formulated specifically for the brewing industry
Instant kettle sour! No waiting for bacteria to do their thing. Just add directly to the mash to hit your target pH
Citric acid is naturally produced by Aspergillus luchuensis, offering a clean pleasant acidity when compared to lactic acid
The citric acid produced can be swapped for lactic acid in any application, such as sour beers or mash pH adjustments
CellarScience imports this Koji fresh from Japan's best sake and koji producer
Try using White Koji instead of acidulated malt in your next batch, especially nice in a Japanese rice lager!
This White Koji is formulated specifically for brewing beer with citric acid. Citric acid tends to have a less harsh astringency when compared to lactic acid. Used at a high percentage (20-25%), it makes a very clean kettle sour instantly. Rather than waiting overnight for the bacteria, you can hit your target pH during your standard mashing process. It can also be added to any recipe to adjust pH in the mash, similar to acidulated malt. This traditional ingredient, imported directly from Japan, is a great addition to your next craft Japanese rice lager!
Koji (Aspergillus luchuensis) is a fungus that is grown on rice during the Shochu making process and citric acid is naturally generated. Koji is grown on rice which breaks down starch in the rice to a more fermentable sugar source. Yeast can then use these sugars during fermentation to add a bright and refreshing citric acid character.
White Koji should be used at a rate of 20% - 25% of total grain in your recipe for souring. Use at a small percentage, as needed, for pH adjustment in the mash.
Koji in Beverage Making
Koji, a unique mold, is the heart of many beloved Japanese beverages, transforming starches into the sugars necessary for fermentation. While traditionally barley malting achieves this in whisky, innovative distillers are embracing koji, particularly yellow and white varieties, to unlock new flavor profiles. In shochu, white and black koji are favored for their citric acid production, ensuring a clean and stable fermentation, while yellow koji adds a touch of sake-like complexity. And of course, yellow koji reigns supreme in sake, orchestrating the intricate parallel fermentation that defines its character.
This ancient ingredient, with its diverse strains, offers a remarkable tool for crafting distinctive spirits. Whether it's the bright acidity of white koji in shochu, the delicate sweetness of yellow koji in sake, or the novel depth it brings to whisky, koji's transformative power is undeniable. By harnessing the unique properties of different koji varieties, producers are pushing the boundaries of flavor, creating beverages that are both rooted in tradition and boldly innovative.

Cloudburst Brewing in Seattle Washington is one of our favorite craft breweries. We met Steve Luke (owner and head brewer) up at the Yakima Fresh Hop Ale Festival and were thoroughly impressed with his beer. After tasting every beer at the festival, there was no question that the Cloudburst Wet Hop IPA was best in show.
Steve, being an ex-homebrewer, was happy to help MoreBeer! with one of his famous IPAs. If you are not familiar with the amazing Cloudburst IPAs he makes, you might be familiar with another IPA of his, Elysian Space Dust. Cloudburst brews up a constantly rotating selection of flavorful and unique brews. Stop by the tasting room the next time you are in Seattle; until then, you'll just have to brew up some Flashing Lights!

Charlie Essers (AKA Push Eject) has been a longtime friend of MoreBeer, The Brewing Network, and homebrewers in general. Dubbed "one of the nicest guys in homebrewing" by those who know him, Push wanted us to have this recipe that he brews whenever his father-in-law comes for a visit. Push says: "My family has been supportive of all the brewing gadgets and scattered projects including my "dark-beer-phobic" father-in-law. This recipe is an Americanized pilsner that I have evolved for him over the years. Sweeter than a standard pilsner, but still crisp and refreshing, I can't keep this around long in the Summer months." Push began brewing in 1999 after buying a starter homebrew kit as a bad joke for a friend who earned a DUI and getting one for himself as well on impulse at the register. After going all grain in 2002, it was clear that automation was a necessity in his process, and his love of brewing gadgets was born. His first stand was designed and built in 2003 and his first Wort-O-Matic control panel in 2006. These led to the launch of wortomatic.com and a close relationship with MoreBeer! and The Brewing Network. Try Push's beer out and let him know what you think - Hopefully it keeps your father-in-law happy, too!

Use this insulating jacket to regulate the fermentation temperature in your 55L FermZilla Conical. The jacket alone will help keep your fermenter warm in the colder months, or you can add a FermWrap heater if the heat fermentation isn't enough to maintain temp. Conversely, you can freeze bottles of water and put them inside the jacket to keep the temperature from getting too hot. If you're feeling extra fancy, use frozen water bottles and a FermWrap plugged into a temperature controller. The frozen water bottles will provide constant cooling, and if the controller detects that the temperature has dropped too far, it will kick on the FermWrap to heat your fermenter back up to your target temp. The jacket has the added benefit of protecting your fermenting beer from harmful UV light. Features a single sided zipper and draw string bottom. Kegland Part number: KL11495

Jonathan Plise has been making beer since the year 2000. He then spent the next few years researching and developing his recipes, fermentation regimen, and sanitation - Jonathan's most dramatic improvements came when he learned about oxygen and yeast starters. Jonathan became a famous homebrewer starting in 2005 when he recieved 33 awards for his beers, including several at the National Homebrewers Competition. He has also won California Homebrewer of the Year.
Jonathan's Munich Helles is rich and complex. The malt is upfront and smooth, while being anchored by the low hop additions. He has won 9 awards with this recipe, including one Best of Show and a Gold at the NHC in 2005. Jonathan recommends White Labs WLP833 German Bock Yeast

Aerate your wort automatically with this complete aeration system. Includes compact air pump, air filter, diffusion stone, and EVABarrier tubing. This aeration system diffuses oxygen into your wort using the air around you, so there's no need to buy pure oxygen cylinders again and again. The down side is that aeration takes longer than oxygenation. Because the atmosphere is only about 20% oxygen, the diffusion stone must be left running in the wort for approximately 30–120 minutes (but even 5 minutes of aeration is better than shaking the carboy). The sterile filter will prevent contamination during this period, but you will need to monitor the fermenter periodically for possible over foaming. To clean your stainless stone, we recommend boiling it for several minutes and storing it in a zip lock bag between uses. It can clog easily with the oil in your fingers, so use gloves when attaching it to the tubing. NOTE: You will need to use hot water to soften the 4 mm x 8 mm EVABarrier tubing when attaching the stone. Needle nose pliers can help to widen the tubing, if necessary. Hose clamps won't be required once it's attached. You will also need to cut a short piece of tubing to bridge the connection from the air pump to the air filter and the air filter to the diffusion stone. You do not want the air filter to get wet or be inserted into your fermenter, so keep the air filter close to the pump. The sanitary air filter can last up to 1 year, but should be replaced if there are any signs of discoloration. Includes: CE Air Pump 15 micron sintered stainless stone with barb 0.2 micron autoclavable air filter Approximately 5 ft. of EVABarrier tubing (4mm ID x 8mm OD) KegLand Part Number: KL03926

StrataGem perfectly interfaces Strata and Idaho Gem™ hops to execute a DDoS attack of tropical flavor with notes of pineapple, cherry, candied fruit, and a touch of chili-cannabis-funk. A clean malt bill of 2-row, oat malt, and white wheat runs in the background as 7 oz of hop additions overwhelm your flavor sensors. This cyberpunk pale ale might not be powerful enough to trigger global thermonuclear war, but StrataGem may very well overwrite your brew schedule with viral copies of itself.

Convection toasted Oak Cubes made in the US from French Oak.
These Oak Cubes impart similar flavors as the equivalent oak type and toast level chip, but extract more slowly giving you more control over the final impact in your beer.
These cubes are produced from staves of French oak that have been air-seasoned for 18-24 months, then toasted to a Medium Toast. They will add a sweet, butterscotch note with hints of Vanilla and Spice to your beer.
Suggested dosage is 2-4 oz per 5 gallons of beer.
Feeling a little rebellious? Like a pale ale that has gone astray? While the Renegade Rye doesn't break all the rules, it certainly deserts the path of an average pale ale! The backbone of this brew contains over 15% rye malt, which adds slight fruity and spicy characteristics to the malt flavors. The clean bitterness from Magnum hops allows these malt flavors to mix perfectly with the aromas of Columbus, Citra®, and Centennial hops.
So go ahead, brew the Renegade Rye, and rebel against standard pale ales!

This insulated tubing kit was developed specifically for the BrewBuilt Jacketed Conical. It has all the fittings needed to connect an IceMaster Glycol Chiller to the conical jacket's 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet—plus premium quick disconnects with shutoff valves that provide a "dry break" when they're disconnected. That means no cooling solution leaking all over your brewery every time you take the system apart for cleaning. The Female QDs are installed on the insulated tubing, and the Male QDs are installed on the T.C. x FPT Adapters that connect to the cooling jacket's inlet and outlet.
Insulated tubing will now only provide increased chilling efficiency, it will also eliminate line sweating so you don't need to wipe up puddles of condensation that might collect on your brewery's floor during fermentation or cold crashing.

Shapes hop flavor and balance by influencing bitterness, smoothness, and aroma expression
Enhances clarity and stability through improved protein coagulation and yeast performance
With properly conditioned water, you’ll unlock better fermentation, enhanced enzyme activity, and a cleaner, more expressive finish that allows your beer’s true character to shine.
Designed to work with: Reverse osmosis (RO), deionized (DI), or distilled water
Each pack treats: 6 gallons (23 L) of brewing water
For larger batches, add an additional 2 g per gallon
Instructions
Use only with reverse osmosis (RO), deionized (DI), or distilled water.
Add the full contents of this pack to 6 gallons (23 L) of brewing water before mashing. Stir until dissolved.
Mash in as usual — no additional acid or salt adjustments are typically required.
Proceed with your normal brewing process.
Note: These salts are designed to set mash pH without acid additions. Because malt acidity varies, you may wish to verify your mash pH and make small corrections if needed, though this is rarely necessary. Dextrose is used in trace amounts as a processing aid for blend consistency and flow and does not affect fermentation or flavor.
WLP051 is a big ester producer, showcasing notes of cherry and apple which compliment pale ales, blonde and brown ales Typically leaves some residual, lager-like sulfur compounds in finished beer Ideal for high gravity ales, American and English hoppy beers, as well as malty ambers, porters, and brown ales PurePitch® Next Generation offers a precise cell count across all strains so you can calculate the exact pitch rate you need for every batch Scan the barcode on the back of the package and enter your wort stats into the Pitch Rate Calculator
White Labs Yeast has been producing high-quality brewer's yeast since 1995 and continues to raise the bar in the art of fermentation Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch! This strain is more fruity than WLP001, and slightly more flocculent. Attenuation is lower, resulting in a fuller bodied beer. California V can be used to ferment scottish ales because of its lower attenuation than its sister strain WLP001. Try this yeast with Pale ales and IPA's. For a great experiment try splitting your wort into two separate fermenters and compare WLP001 with WLP051. Let us know what you think. To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 62-65F and let it rise to 66-68F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. PurePitch® Next Generation—now with more yeast, get a foolproof fermentation without a starter! Just twist the cap & pitch! Why PurePitch Next Gen versus other options? Typically yeast manufacturers use a range for how many yeast cells are going into each package. This can vary widely, especially from strain to strain. Next Gen offers a far more precise cell count across all strains allowing you to use the Whitelabs exclusive pitch calculator. Simply scan the barcode on the back of each package to be taken to their online calculator. Enter the volume, strength, and pitching temperature of the wort you are fermenting and the calculator tells you exactly how much yeast to pitch. You will be fermenting like a professional brewer, using the same concentration of yeast every time and enjoying more consistent results. Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch. Whitelabs has also increased the viability (the number of living cells in the package) over the shelf life of the yeast. Next Gen strains are grown in their unique, small-batch reactors to assure freshness and then packaged in a special film that allows for off-gassing, assuring that their viability is absolutely industry leading. Attenuation: 72-78% Flocculation: Medium to High Alcohol Tolerance: 8-12% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 66-70°F Cell Count: 150 Billion For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.

G2 model features redesigned flow control mechanism for improved shank sealing and flow control Make instant adjustments to beverage flow as you pour Switch from pouring pints to filling growlers without adjusting your CO2 regulator Reduced first pour foam due to low thermal mass Forward-sealing design prevents beer residue from gumming up the faucet Unique shuttle design greatly improves laminar flow, improving the pour of carbonated beverages Compatible with all Intertap faucet accessories and shanks Generation 2 The NukaTap Flow Control G2 uses a completely new flow control mechanism with better sealing properties against the shank as well as improved flow control. Control the Flow The flow control model is a great option for users that often switch between beer styles with different carbonation levels. No need to rebalance your lines or play with your regulator settings. Instantly make adjustments as you pour to dial in the flow rate. This is also a super convenient feature for when you want to grab a quick growler on your way out. By dialing back the flow rate, you can gently fill your growler so CO2 stays in solution and your beer doesn't pour flat when it comes time to share. The NukaTap Flow Control faucet is also the first FC model to be fully compatible with the optional self-closing spring. First Pour Foam Reduction Every kegerator owner knows the letdown of pouring your first pint of the day and getting too much foam. Even with perfectly balanced draft lines, first pour foam is sometimes unavoidable simply due to the temperature of the faucet itself. Running beer through the faucet will drop the temperature, and the foaming will subside, but not without a bit of wasted beer from pouring off excess head. The NukaTap beer faucet drops to beer serving temperature much faster thanks to its lower thermal mass. Simply put, the bulkier the faucet is, the more beer is needed to flow through and chill the tap. The NukaTap is over 20% lighter than its Intertap predecessor, and even lighter still compared to other brands of faucets. Improved Laminar Flow The inspiration for the NukaTap name comes from its uniquely designed "nuke-shaped" shuttle that resides on the inside of the faucet. The NukaShuttle went through numerous rounds of redesigns and countless hours of testing to find a shape that provides superior laminar flow. This means that liquid passes by the shuttle with very little resistance, allowing highly carbonated beers or hard seltzers to pour like a dream. Sanitary Design The NukaShuttle is the world’s first seamless single-piece design. Traditional taps feature an o-ring seated on a stainless steel shuttle, which can cause a couple of issues. After many pours, the stainless shuttle rubbing against the internal body of the faucet will create small fissures that become potential infection sites, and the seated o-ring can be difficult to clean in place, making your draft cleaning and sanitizing process less effective than you realize. The NukaShuttle is an advanced TPV rubber matrix that has been seamlessly formed over a durable PP skeleton. This single-piece design eliminates the pitfalls of older manufacturing methods, making it one of the most sanitary faucets on the market. Forward Sealing vs. Rear Sealing From tap rooms to home bars, forward-sealing faucets are the ideal choice for any draft setup. In traditional rear-sealing taps, beer will drain out of the entire faucet when it's in the closed position. This means the internal mechanism is coated in beer, which then dries and becomes a sticky residue. Forward-sealing faucets, on the other hand, keep the tap full of beer so it never has a chance to dry and gunk up the internal parts. This makes the faucet much easier to clean and also reduces the chance of off flavors transferring to your beer while you pour. Haze Craze Flash Brewing® Kit
Haze Craze is the Flash Brewing® take on the hazy New England IPA recipe. Also known as a North Eastern IPA, or Juicy IPA, it quickly became one of the most popular beer styles in the US. It packs all of the hop character that craft beer nerds love, and it's much softer and less bitter than classic West Coast IPAs, making it a much more approachable style for the uninitiated. The style accentuates hop character while maintaining a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Light in color but hazy due to heavy dry hopping, CellarScience Hazy yeast, as well as our custom blend of Flash Malt™ containing oats and wheat. Low in bitterness with a huge hop character due to hop-bursting, this beer will satiate even the biggest hop head.
NEIPA has become popular nationwide thanks to breweries like Tree House Brewing, The Alchemist, Hill Farmstead and Grimm Artisanal Ales. One taste of this delicious style will make it a staple in your Flash brew schedule.
Flash Brewing® Kits
Introducing MoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing® Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home.
Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing® eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing® malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you.
If you want to read more about the development of Flash Brewing® at MoreBeer! or have more questions please read our Frequently Asked Questions.

If you want an easy way to balance your beer lines, this is the way to do it. One of the benefits of Flow Control disconnects is you don't need to rely on the small ID or line length to apply flow resistance. Rather than adjusting your line length or size, simply apply additional restriction directly on the Quick Disconnect (QD). This is perfect for people who want to serve a large range of beverages with differing carbonation levels without having to customize each line. Now with the added benefit of Duotight fittings built in.
Please be aware that even in the fully open position these FC disconnects do have some inherent flow resistance so you should use either shorter line or larger ID line that you would when compared with traditional ball lock disconnects.
Flow Control QD vs. Flow Control Faucet
One of the only drawbacks of flow control devices is that they inherently create a small amount of turbulence and therefore can cause foaming. In the past, flow control faucets have been the only common option. Flow control faucets are very popular but due to the fact that they are placed at the very end of the beer line they have no head pressure. As a result, any turbulence created can cause foaming and carbonation to come out of solution.
Flow control ball lock disconnects like these on the other hand have the ability to restrict the flow before the beer enters the beer line so the head pressure created by the beer line keeps the carbonation in solution. Even in the instance that high turbulence is created the beer will be far more resistant to foaming issues. For this reason, flow control ball lock disconnects like these have significantly better performance allowing you the flexibility to adjust line resistance easily but without the introduction of turbulence that creates foaming. It cannot fix over-carbonated beer, but it can reduce the amount of beer line you would need to pour without excessive foaming.
Duotight Ball Lock QDs
The humble plastic ball lock disconnect has been around a long time and is used by countless homebrewers around the world. Despite the extensive use they have seen little to no innovation for decades and KegLand wanted to change this. Enter the Duotight Ball Lock QD. The integrated Duotight design means you can connect your beer and gas line directly, easily and reliably with no need for additional fittings or clamps. It is a robust and super compact design that is incredibly easy to assemble and disassemble, making cleaning and sanitizing an absolute breeze!
Made from highly chemical resistant materials with stainless springs and ball bearings (no cheap ABS plastics here) this baby is extremely resistant to commonly used chemicals such as phosphoric based sanitizers and caustics. The incredibly small form factor allows for easy stacking of kegs. The new cap design ensures a pressure seal with just hand tightening and it can be completely taken apart for cleaning with no tools required.
Duotight Push-to-Connect
These Duotight ball lock disconnects already have the Duotight fitting built into the ball lock disconnect. No need for additional threaded fittings. Simply push the beer/gas line in and you are done!
Compact
The world's most compact ball lock disconnect ever manufactured. This new compact form factor is great for tight spaces or fridges where you want to pack as many kegs in as possible. This is one of the only ball lock disconnects that allows standard ball lock kegs to be double stacked while still connected to beer and gas lines.
Overmolded Poppet
The overmolded poppet design means you can couple and disconnect this ball lock QD under extreme pressures of up to 150 psi (higher than most kegs working pressure) and will never have issues with the o-ring blowing out.
Tool-less Disassembly
Other ball lock disconnects require a tool such as a flat head screw driver or spanner to take them apart for cleaning. The new caps on these allow for easy disassembly by hand, making these easier to break down for cleaning. It's literally never been easier to remove hop particles from your ball lock disconnects.
Extreme Chemical Resistance
No cheap ABS plastic or nitrile seals. This ball lock disconnect is made from stainless spring and ball bearings, with an engineering polyketone resin body, EPDM and PP/EPDM overmolded poppet. This makes the quick disconnect resistant to extreme chemicals such as phosphoric and acetic acid, caustic soda, peroxide and many other acid or base chemicals which are commonly used in homebrewing.
Toughness
This ball lock disconnect is more robust than any other plastic ball lock disconnect ever manufactured due to the use of new engineering plastics. Don't be fooled by the small form factor — these bad boys are tough!
Features:
Ball Lock Quick Disconnect - Bev Out
Adjustable flow rate
Direct connect 8 mm EVABarrier tubing
Compact design won't interfere with keg stacking
Made from highly chemical resistant materials
Dissamble by hand for quick and easy cleaning

Stop leaving clean, perfectly good, wine or beer in your tank and always drain from the perfect height with our tri-clover style rotating racking arms. Remove your existing tri-clamp butterfly valve and place this rotating racking arm between the tank and your valve. When it is time to rack off slightly loosen the clamp nearest the tank and use the built-in handle to rotate to just about the lees level.
A white rotatable gasket is placed between the welded in tank fitting and this rotating arm. Because the micro finish of the gasket is hard and slippery it allows the rotating arm to rotate in place. A standard black EPDM gasket is placed between the rotating arm and the butterfly valve and is always kept completely tightened.
The length of the arm after the elbow is 10.5" allowing you to draw from roughly 8" above or below the valve level. The arm measures 9.5" from the TC fitting to the elbow. We suggest you assemble the rotating arm and butterfly valve in such a way that the arm is pointed in the same direction as the handle on your butterfly valve. In this manner you always know how the racking arm is positioned in your tank.

Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, California. It seems to some that Matt has almost been bred to brew beer. After getting a degree in chemistry in 1993, Matt went to work in Michigan doing research and development on hops for the brewing industry. In 1995, Matt went to the famous Seibel Institute of Brewing Technology to further his education. After brewing for Goose Island in Chicago and then moving to California to work for SLO Brewing, Matt was appointed Small Brewmaster of the Year in 2001. Later that year, he was asked to join the crew at Firestone Walker. Two years later Matt was dubbed Mid-Sized Brewer of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest AND at the World Cup of Beer, for a total of 12 medals in just three years! Since then, Firestone Walker has been gaining a large following in California due in part to it's flagship beer, Double Barrel Ale, which is produced in a Burton Union system that has the beer fermenting in barrels. Firestone Walker Brewing Company is the only brewery in the U.S. to ferment in barrels and one of only two in the world. In addition to the line-up at Firestone Walker, Matt also brews the Nectar Ales line of beers, as well as a few of the Trader Joe's house brands. Learn more at www.firestonebeer.com
Don't let the name fool you, this beer is easy on the oak, having been created so that all ingredients blend perfectly with one another, even the oak. In fact, the oak really takes a back seat to the wonderful malt characteristics that this beer presents, which may be hard to imagine once you realize there are 2 ounces of oak in this one! A blend of American and English base malts provide the foundation for this beer. A little Munich, some crystal, and that's it - simple, yet flavorful. Just how we like it. One can easily spend all night drinking this smooth amber ale ... in fact, many of us at MoreBeer! have done just that! The low bitterness ties everything together and makes you remember just how much of a craft brew this beer really is.

External Cooling Jacket
When it comes to temperature control for a homebrew conical fermenter the holy grail has been an external cooling jacket. Internal cooling coils have long been the answer and while they are simpler to make and relatively inexpensive, they are harder to clean and have issues cold crashing in warm environments. The BrewBuilt X3 Jacketed Conical offers maximum cooling power without any compromise of sanitation.
8” Tri-Clamp Top Port
New to the X3, the 8” Tri-Clamp lid is rock solid and easy to use. The 8” opening allows plenty of space to still get in and clean the inside of the conical by hand if desired. A unique 8”, three-piece, tri-clamp is used to make sealing the top very easy and very secure.
Extra Large 3” T.C. Dump Valve
The largest in the industry. Dry hop to your heart's desire. Try as they might, hopheads will have a hard time clogging this conical. With an oversized 3" bottom port, you’ll have all the clearance you need (and even more than some pro brewers) to drop out your dry hop additions with ease. The slick mirror-polish finish on the inside allows flocculating yeast to collect neatly at the bottom of the cone as they slide right down the smooth interior walls. The butterfly dump valve integrates perfectly with the optional Flex Chamber Collection Jar and Yeast Harvester.
Reinforced Four-Leg Foundation
There’s a common complaint about the tippiness of three-legged units. Three legs may be fine when the fermenter is sitting still on an even surface, but users are often forced to purchase a bracing shelf for more stability if they add casters or leg extensions. A conical is only as worthy as its foundation, so BrewBuilt modeled the X3 after professional-level brewery tanks with a four-leg, reinforced base. This seemingly small design feature is more expensive to produce, but it's what makes the X3 conical exceedingly stable when compared to other models. When you fill up your fermenter with delicious fresh wort, you want to trust the vessel that’s holding your latest creation. Brewers shouted from the mountaintops that they wanted stronger, sturdier legs right out of the box that doesn’t require an additional bracing shelf. The four-leg, welded-bar reinforced system is absolutely rock solid. This is an especially critical feature if you plan to add rolling casters so you can easily glide the fermenter around your brewery.
The reinforced four-leg design not only increased the stability and strength of the conical but also allows the unit to stand taller, thereby eliminating the need for extensions in almost every situation. An elbow, a sight glass, or the Flex Chamber can be mounted under the unit with room to spare.
Adjustable Feet
The X3 Jacketed Conical comes standard with reinforced thread-in adjustable feet. If your home brewery has uneven flooring, you can quickly and easily level out the fermenter. The feet can be swapped out with high-quality casters at any time.
Flex Chamber Collection Jar - Trub Separator & Yeast Harvester
Working in collaboration with KegLand, we developed the pressurizable Flex Chamber Collection Jar. It attaches directly to the butterfly dump valve and can be used for removing trub, harvesting yeast, and many other tasks. Since it's made from crystal clear Triton, you'll be able to visually monitor fermentation activity just as you would with a sight glass. Ball lock adapters can be attached to the threaded ports on either side, allowing you to connect oxygenation or carbonation stones, or flush the Flex Chamber with CO2 and use it to inject hops or other ingredients into your conical. Also, a great option for storing yeast! Simply attach a 3" T.C. end cap or PRV and store your harvested yeast in the fridge for your next fermentation.
Pressure Pack with Clear Float Technology
Adding pressure capability will allow you to ferment, carbonate, and even serve all in one vessel. The Pressure Pack features the unique Clear Float Technology racking tube that can be used for taking samples, transferring to keg, or serving finished beer. This innovative feature draws beer from the top down, which means you’re always pulling the clearest, most sediment-free beer possible. Using pressure to draw a sample from the floating dip tube will also eliminate the tiny bit of oxygen that would be injected into your beer every time the traditional sample valve is opened.
Pressure transferring from fermenter to keg is the best way to protect your beer from oxygen when it’s at its most vulnerable state. Kegging could be considered the final hurdle in the brewing process, where limiting oxygen exposure is critical. This could mean the difference between your beer tasting great for months or tasting great for a week. Don’t take any chances. Use the Pressure Pack to keg from the top down and leave sediment behind.
Other Features You’ll Love:
Downward-facing Blowoff U Barb prevents blow off tubing from kinking and is much easier to remove and clean than a fixed stainless blow off
Stainless steel lid clamp with single-piece molded silicone gasket
In our GEN 3 redesign, we've added two more 1.5" T.C. ports to the cone and body for additional flexibility with current and upcoming product add-ons
X3 Accessories:
BrewBuilt Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure (Required to ferment or seal/cap an X3 with an active fermentation)
The Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) that comes with the conical is not sufficient for fermentation as it can become clogged with Krausen. To ferment or seal/cap an active fermentation requires the use and safety of the Pressure Fermentation Kit. This no-compromises kit includes the same hardware you will find on a commercial unitank, including a dedicated pro level spunding valve, a sealed pressure gauge, and a dedicated commercial PRV. Read more about these key hardware features in the kit copy. Also included is liquid Foam-Axe which helps reduce Krausen. Please read and follow all special instructions that come with the kit as well as your instruction manual.
Hop Bong Oxygen-Free Dry Hopping Device
The Hop Bong is a versatile pressurizable tri-clamp accessory that is perfect for purging oxygen from your dry hops before dropping them into your fermenter. Load up the Hop Bong, flush it with CO2, purge out oxygen with the handy PRV on top, then simply open the Butterfly Valve to inject your beer with a 6 oz payload of dry hops.
High Roller Caster Set
Go mobile with this heavy-duty caster set. Your fermenter moves around the brewery a lot, so why not give it some glide? Roll from sanitizing to kettle transfer to keg transfer to cleaning with minimal effort. Moving a stainless conical around can be taxing. Give your back a break and upgrade your conical with a set of rolling casters.
IceMaster Max 2
Built to pair perfectly with the IceMaster Max 2 glycol chiller. Easily and efficiently control your fermentation temperature and cold crash for conditioning and clarifying. Pair with our BrewBuilt Insulated Tubing Kit that comes complete with premium quick disconnects with shutoff valves that provide a “dry break” when they’re disconnected.
Immersion Heater
The X3's cone features a 2" tri-clamp port specifically for installing an Immersion Heater. The low watt density heating element gently warms your fermenting beer without scorching. A must-have for brewers living in colder climates or if you want the peace of mind that your temperature will never drop too low for your ale or kveik strains regardless of the time of year.

Introducing the X-Dry Series Chugger Pumps! These pumps offer the same great quality we've come to expect from Chugger, but now feature Run-Dry Protection. Although the Chugger still needs to be primed before each use, the X-Dry Series offers a new level of protection from damage due to cavitation.
The Chugger lineup of pumps represents a great value for an even better price. These pumps are workhorses in the brewery. Featuring a robust flow rate of 7 gpm, and a magnetic drive designed to handle back-pressure, these pumps are a great addition to any brewing setup! The Stainless Steel Chugger showcases their molded Stainless Steel Pump Head. This stainless pump is a steal for the price, and we've been more than happy with the quality! Use this to ease transfers between kettles, cool wort via a counterflow chiller, or recirculate icewater for quicker chilling!
The Chugger pump model has 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet, allowing easy integration with your T.C. kettles or fermenter! We recommend setting these pumps up with a butterfly valve on the outflow side, this way you can throttle down the outgoing flow rate, allowing for more efficient sparges or cooling! The pump head can also be rotated 360° (in 90° intervals) allowing for even more customization!
Features:
Run Dry Carbon Bearing
Stainless Steel Center Inlet Pump Head
Food Grade up to 250° F
1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet
High Flow rate of 7 gpm
Max Head 18.6 ft
115v 55" cord and plug attached
50/60 Hz, 1.4 amp

This is a no compromise, professional level hardware kit that allows for safe pressure fermentation in an X-Series Uni Conical. If you plan to ferment, or to seal/cap an active fermentation, in your BrewBuilt X-Series Conical you must use this Brewbult Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure. During fermentation Krausen can potentially clog the PRV that is built into the lid. The hardware in this kit is the same as what you will find on a commercial Unitank. This is not an all-in-one unit. All-in-one units are cheaper but not as safe.
Component Break Down:
Commercial Grade Spunding Valve - The kit is built around a commercial Spunding Valve that allows you to set your desired fermentation pressure. if that ferementation pressure exceeds your set point, it will blow off any excess pressure from the X-Series Conical. The clear cup holds liquid acting as an airlock and allowing krausen to exit. The Spunding valve is also adjustable.
Pro Grade PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) - On all brewery pro tanks, a tri-clamp PRV is always installed in addition to a Spunding Valve. This is because a Spunding Valve still has the potential to clog. The pro PRV has a very wide interior body as to reduce the risk of clogging. The PRV is non-adjustable and comes preset to relieve pressure at 15 PSI.
Sealed Pressure Gauge - This is a liquid filled, sealed gauge. The bottom of the gauge is a thin plate of stainless that moves up or down in relation to pressure in the tank. That causes the oil in the gauge to compress which is what the gauge reads. When properly sealed, there is no way krausen can get into this gauge and cause a false reading. However, it is important to ensure the guage is sealed, otherwise, there is a risk that krasuen clogs the gauge giving you an inaccurate reading.
Foam Axe - Foam Axe is a silica-based krausen cutter used by commercial breweries to reduce krausen blow off while increasing foam retention in your beer. Using Foam Axe is required for every batch fermented under pressure, but we recommend it for all batches fermented in your X-Series Conical. Foam Axe helps keep krausen out of PRVs and other hardware which is always a good idea.
When your BrewBuilt Uni is outfitted with a Kit for Pressure Fermentation there are three devices for relieving pressure, including the PRV that is always built into the lid, the adjustable Spunding Valve, and the pro grade PRV.
Includes:
Commercial Grade BrewBuilt Spunding Valve

WARNING! The use of the BrewBuilt Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure is required for performing Pressure Fermentations in your X-Series conical. The PRV built into the lid is not designed to be the only release point during a pressure fermentation.
WARNING! The use of Foam Axe is required to reduce krausen (foam from fermentation) production in the fermenter.
WARNING! Always release pressure, then remove the PRV built into the lid to ensure the conical is completely depressurized before removing fittings or the lid clamp. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.

The Blichmann ThruMometer In-line Thermometer is a great way to know the temperature of your wort while it's being transferred. Very helpful when using a counterflow or plate chiller to read the temperature of your wort going into the fermenter. Made of heat-treated highly corrosion resistant aluminum. Reads from 58°F - 88°F, and has 1/2" in and out posts.
Note- Clean with mild detergent only, using warm (no hotter than 140°F) water. Do not soak in the same bucket as other metals, as this could result in galvanic corrosion to the aluminum. After use, dry thoroughly and store in the protective plastic tube.
